In order to carry out the planning work to equip several Polish railway lines with the ETCS Level 2 system, Bombardier requires reliable data regarding the infrastructure – from track gradients to distances, right through to information about the rail fastening system.

Once ETCS has been installed, the SATengine tool will be used to inspect the distances, gradients and balise telegrams compared to the project planning data. A special railML format in which the data are supplied was developed for Bombardier.
